Blind Biker Races Bonneville

2014-bonneville-motorcycle-speed-trials-diary-12Dan Parker lost his vision in a drag racing crash in 2012. This has not stopped him however, from continuing to satisfy his need for speed. Parker designed and built his own three-wheeled motorcycle and uses a high-tech, GPS-based guidance system to govern steering. Using auditory inputs that allow him to hear rather than see when moving off course, he can make mid-track corrections. Parker was the first blind racer at Bonneville and set a world record in 2013. Last week at the 2014 Speed Trials he beat his own record with a two-way average of 62.05 mph.

We find this incredibly inspirational and would like to raise awareness for this amazing achievement. Dan Parker is more than a motorcyclist. He is a legend!
