RCMP Officer Convicted of Lying

police carRCMP officer convicted of lying to ICBC received a $2,500 fine for providing false information about a 2013 accident.

Constable James Baker was convicted of lying to ICBC and remains suspended with pay from the force pending completion of an internal review.

The officer told ICBC that an unidentified vehicle struck his car causing him to crash into a ditch but a witness testified that there was no other vehicle on the road. Investigators found no evidence of a collision with another car.
